Everybody is dependent on coffee. It’s the old reliable. But there is another queue more discrete behind it, pills, powders, herbs, people are using hoping to think quicker or feel sharper. That list is referred to by a single name What Are Nootropics.

We should clear something up at once. These will not make you a genius. Had this been a possibility, there would be no libraries and everybody would be writing novels as opposed to emails. What you may have is a slight lift. A bit more clarity. Sometimes.
Take caffeine. Familiar territory. Put in L-theanine, and all goes well. The edge softens. Focus is not so much of a sprint as a jog, steady. Not theatrical, but something that is observable to others.
Next there are the lab-sounding options. Racetams, like Piracetam. Opinions of people are great. Some say they remember better, they think faster. Others have nothing whatever. It is a coin toss more frequently than one would admit.
There is another corner where herbs are found. Rhodiola. Ashwagandha. These are not kick-in as a couple of espressos. They’re quieter. More of background support on those stressful days. You may be feeling a bit more relaxed. Or you may simply feel, normal.
One of my buddies once told me, this supplement helped me to be insanely productive. I later realized that he had also cleaned up his desk, turned off notifications and slept eight hours. Funny how those details creep in.
Now, caution. Big one. “Natural” doesn’t equal safe. There is an abundance of natural objects that can get you dishevelled. Improvisation of substances that lack a strategy may cause headaches, brain fog, or worse. And when your sleep pattern is anarchy, nothing is supplementing that.
It is common to stack that is to mix several nootropics. It is also where individuals lose their way. Too many variables. You are not okay and you do not know why. Start small. Keep it simple. You will be glad that your brain is thankful.
And, of course, there is belief. You may find yourself feeling a boost, should you anticipate one. It is a funny thing of the mind. It does not imply that you are imagining things–it means that expectation has a burden.
This is where people omit. Basics matter more. Sleep. Movement. Real food. Forget them, and no capsule will come to their aid. Stick those on top of that, and you may not even have to add anything.
There is nothing bad about trying nootropics. Simply keep your expectations at a level. When something promises to have limitless attention and no exhaustion, do take it with a grain of salt.
Other days the finest mental improvement is to get out in the air and stretch your legs and give your brain a vacation. Uncomplicated, underestimated and surprisingly efficient.
